Yes Des, I am not real concerned about the weight although the KP and the lenses I use on it are lighter than the 15-30mm and the 24-70mm and the 150-450mm telephoto lens I use on my K-1ii and my K1, and the IQ I get with KP holds its own with the K-1s when using star lenses

Well as many lenses as I have tried I just decided to bite the bullet and get a lens that can trump all of the ones I have tried when it comes to IQ.
So, today I bought the Pentax HD PENTAX-DA* 11-18mm F2.8ED DC AW Lens. Should be in sometime this week and I will post photos once it comes in.
Well, that is quite a nifty bullet to bite! I'm sure it will live up to its excellent reputation.

I don't have the K-1, nor do I have those FF lenses, but I have read similar comments by those who do have this same equipment and also a KP.

If this 11-18mm 2.8 meets my expectations and I fully expect it will surpass my expectations, I will use three lenses with my KP when I travel in my camera bag. The Pentax 11-18mm 2.8, the Sigma 18-50mm 2.8, and the Pentax 200mm 2.8
This should bring superb results!

Sometimes I use a similar kit. In my case it is the Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC, then the same Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC, followed by the DA* 50-135mm f/2.8 SDM, then the same DA* 200mm f/2.8 (+ Tamron 1.4 x TC) for a fast, but comparatively lightweight 4-lens very wide-range outfit.

Yes mikesbike, this 11-18mm was quite a bite to take considering it's cost, but with the lens set up I have chosen is what me and my hunting friends say about an all around rifle. It's not the best at one thing but can do it all pretty well. The KP is not the absolute best image quality out there, nor the fastest and most reliable autofocus, it’s not the smallest or lightest camera, it doesn’t have the best battery life, but it does fine and I will be very happy using it with the set of lenses I have chosen to use.

20-40 as a general purpose, then slip in the FA 31 for lowlight and or indoor shots.

Took a little more time with the Pentax HD PENTAX-DA* 11-18mm F2.8ED DC AW Lens on my Pentax KP with a battery grip and I really like the feel and balance and starting to really like the photos.

The 11-18 is my dream lens for the KP. Hopefully I can get the funds for one some day.
