Silly question but how to set the DA14 to hyperfocus?

Can someone please share with me how to set the DA14 to its hyperfocus settings?

I assume I must revert to Manual settings, set the aperture and shutter speed manually. but how do i rotate the focusing barrel to get hyperfocus? There is a 22, 16, 8 and | mark on the lens.

Should I set to 22 and align 22 to infinity? silly question but please bear with me.

If you're setting it to f/22 (either Manual or aperture priority-mode), set the infinity focus indicator at the left 22 mark on the barrel, and then everything from infinity to about 1 foot will be in focus. Don't forget to change the focus switch on the camera to manual focus

What is the | mark use for then?

Say I want to set to F11 instead of F22, how do I align the infinity mark? there is no F11 marking on the lens barrel.

The center | indicates the plane of perfect focus. Even at f/22, there's only one plane that is exactly in focus, but a large region is close enough to appear sharp.

As for f/11, it's one stop up from f/16 and one stop down form f/8, so I'd put it in between f/22 and f/8.

I didn't make this clear in my first post, but when you put the left 22 mark on infinity, everything on the focus scale between the left 22 (infinity) and the right 22 (roughly 1 foot) will be in focus. same for the 16 and 8 marks.
