Hi Ronald - so long as the lens isn't yours, you can post a link here

Thanks. I was kinda hoping to keep it under the Radar so to speak. I know that sounds funny posting it on a Public Forum , so that's why I said PM me for the link.

Maybe... it is Goodwill, so it could be full of fungus, missing its rear element, or who knows what...

I've not used this lens in either A-series or M-series format, but, what does it for you about this lens vs. the f2.8 A-series 35mm? I know it is a full stop faster, but it's also rated noticeably lower in the user database here on PF. It's also larger, heavier, and usually sells for much more. Do you need that extra f-stop?

It doesn't do anything personally for me and Ive never used it. The ratings in the Lens Reviews don't really mean a thing. Ratings are quite subjective to the user.
However it is quite scarce , so I posted it for someone else to take a chance at acquiring.

I have an old M42 version that I like very much.

That said, I’m more likely to get a FA than an A if I upgrade it...

Ronald: I think I missed the purpose of your post. Agreed that the f2 M and A series 35mm lenses are somewhat rare. It seems like the F2.8's are similarly rare which I find odd as 35mm is such a common "compromise" focal length on full frame, and why I picked a 35mm as a possible middle length prime for a travel trio.

I think it's because at the time they were new the cost was prohibitive. People who wanted a 35 in their kit probably didn't care about the extra few stops of light when they were saving that much money.

I almost cant live without a 35mm lens in my bag. Don't care if its a DA 35mm limited Macro or a SMC-A or SMC-K...even a Takumar is welcome. The 35mm lenses are a bit scarce compared to the 50's and 28's.....but I don't know why.
