Help Mounting Vivitar 100-300mm

Hey Guys and Gals,

I acquired a vivitar 100-300mm K mount for my Pentax K200. The only catch is that I can't get it to do....anything.

It mounts but when I turn on my camera I get a flashing F-- on the top LCD and the shutter wont fire either.

I was wondering if anyone knew why it's doing this. I'd hate give up on the lens so I'm hoping that someone has the answers.

Is there an A or Auto setting on the dial nearest the camera? You should also go through the menu until you find Allow aperture setting and select it.

And we have the winning answer!!!!

It doesn't have the A setting but I discovered that I can use the aperture settings on the lens under my custom functions.
