The Worst Pentax Lens ( PT 5.1 of 7 ) - YouTube

Has focus breathing been an issue for you? Have you been limited by the long-end being somewhat less than 200mm?
I saw that, and don't quite believe it. Members have posted images with far greater clarfity then what he achieved in the video. I think he is using the cameras on P mode instead of fixed settings, while only adjusting the aperture.

Second I don't view Focus breathing as a problem, its just a side effect of the lens. learn to use it.

The guy had a defective copy, but didn't take the video down, nor does he link to that part where he admits that. There's a little bit of chicanery going on there.

DFA☆ 70-200 F2.8 w/ DA 1.4X.. midnightvisions, MY copy is very sharp at f2.8 [no + or - focus adjustments needed] and very fast focusing and sharp even with the DA 1.4X with my K-3 II. Focus breathing- I do not notice it at all for wildlife usage and since I do not take portraits it is not issue for me. Colors are excellent...You need to try one, then all your questions will be answered. Its heavy but hand holdable. Rent one and see if you like it.

A really amazing lens ... one of my favorites together with the D-FA* 50/1.4!

Sharp, contrasty and with charming bokeh at any focal length.

Bulky and heavy, but tack-sharp, fully open good usable (from f/3.2 nearly perfect), nailing the focus absolutely reliable, good AF speed. Very good results with the SR.
