lens and camera serial numbers??

Is there ANY comprehensive list of serial numbers for older Pentax lenses and bodies? The database offers no help. I understand Pentax serial numbers make little sense. Thanks!

There is an extremely deep site for Asahi M42 lenses...

Takumarology - Takumar Field Guide

...more than one would ever want to know.

Hijacking this slightly, I've used the Field Guide before and it is very helpful. However, I've noticed a discrepancy between one of my lenses and what the guide says. I've looked for an email on the website but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know how to contact them?

I'm reasonably certain the FA limited lenses started at 001 and counted up for each different lens. I've have quite low serial numbers for the 43 and 77, but I'm not sure about the 31.

My DA prime lenses are mostly in the range of 9 million.

Do a site search for "Takumarology". There are several interesting threads that reference the site. How about a Super Takumar 55/1.8 with open-aperture couplings, NO multi-coating, and a unique product number (Japan-only 37106)?

That's fantastic, even just jumping around the points they make about variations in markings and such.
