What Fisheyes are available to K10?

Just wondering what different makers are out there for fisheyes that work with the K10. I would like to have a fisheye, but dont want to pay 500+ for the pentax lens.

There's a 16mm Zenitar fisheye, manual focus, that a number of people in these parts seem to have copies of... I hear it's reasonably priced.

Russian MC Zenitar 16/2.8, a little over $200 through various online sources, used for somewhat less.

Sigma 15/2.8 about $800

Pentax 17mm F4 in M42 mount and also K
Pentax 16mm 2.8 (don't know much about this one)
Peleng 8mm CIRCULAR fisheye
Sigma 8mm CIRCULAR fisheye
Pentax 17-28mm (too tele on APS-C)

best is to get the Zenitar 16mm used so that someone has tried it out and made sure it works. if you get a new one from russia, sometimes the service isn't that good or othertimes the lens might have minor QC issues

Pentax DA10-17 fisheye zoom is a fun lens. Don't know what currency you are talking about, USD? It's not that far off from your price I would guess.

It's really only 390

Amazon.com: PENTAX DA 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 ED (IF) Fish-Eye Lens for Pentax Digital SLR: Camera & Photo

Very handy, distinctive, and at 17mm not too distorted.

I'll second the recommendation for a used Zenitar-K 16/2.8. (Don't get the Zenitar-M unless you really need an M42 mount.) You don't get a 180-degree diagonal FOV, so it's more of a fishy-wide-angle than a true diagonal fisheye (such as the Pentax 10-17). But it's still fun!

Used 8mm fisheyes are only slightly cheaper than a new Pentax 10-17 (and used Sigma AF EX fisheyes are actually more expensive).

There is also the Sigma 16mm f/2.8 fisheye. A nice compact lens that has internal filters.

Would have to pitch my vote in for the DA 10-17.
It's a very bright and excellently contrasted lens that produces absolutely stunning results - awesome colours, very sharp, reasonably well distortions - just perfect exposures.

You could get one good used copy of this beauty from this forum for around $300. You'd just have to be patient for it to pop up - or post a Wanted thread.

That's actually a cool lens that performs well, but not so common. But there is a relabeled Ricoh version. Some risk for oil on the aperture blades (the fate of my copy back in the 90's). Costs a fair bit on e-bay, so I'm not sure that the DA10-17 wont be that much more expensive, especially if you wait for a used 10-17.

It is true as specialK says, it is not so distorted at 17mm, so you get both an extreme wide angle at 17mm and a fish-eye in the other end.
