170mm macro?

When using the Pentax FA100mm macro and adding the Pentax 1.7 AF TC into the mix does this give me a (albeit slower) 170mm macro lens? Here's a sample, the little fuzzball is about 1/2 inch in diameter and was taken from about 8-10 inches away, what's the difference from just the 100mm alone.....I know, I shoulda tried instead of asking, but there you go. Hope the pic uploaded, never tried before....

Fa 100mm f/2.8 + 1.7x TC = 170mm f/4.7.
