New HD Pentax-D FA* 85mm F1.4 still coming in 2019?

I can't find any information on the release date of this lens that was published more recently than May/June of this year. According to the updated road map and the most recent stories, it is still supposed to release in 2019. Does anyone have any recent information about when this lens will be available? Has it been pushed back? Thanks

"2019 or later", and at this late date, that probably translates to next year or later.

Ricoh talking about 2 lenses in 2020 at the Paris get together is a positive sign. See if there is any more info November 27th or so.

Two years ago I was excited for this lens, I’ve given up on it now. It’s a shame because I’m sure it will be a good lens.

People forget that the DFA* 70-200 was also considerably delayed, almost at the last moment, to fix an issue. With hindsight, the delay was a good thing.

What you said's not true, PentaPrime - Stevebrot's link is to the road map dated October 2017 and there's no release date, it's just put in the '2018 or later' category.

The lens is late by all means. Should we be used to late arrivals...why?
I am still here, still waiting. Whenever Pentax announces development of something, it makes we laugh these days. A spark of hope for the better and then you realize the announced but not released gear.

The question might be whether purchase of the D FA* 85/1.4 is actually in very many of our futures. I am fairly certain it is not in mine. I don't have the money for the D FA* 50/1.4 and certainly will not have the money for the D FA* 85/1.4 even if and when its price settles to market norms. Sure, it would be a matter of pride of completeness for the brand, but it won't be on my shelf unless I win a raffle or something. In the mean time, the FA 77/1.8 will do the job and is a superior tool for how I use the focal length.

OTOH, I am quite a bit more interested in the D FA 70-200/4.0. If the price and performance are a good fit, I may be willing to move away from the two excellent manual focus zooms I own at that range that I currently use, assuming of course that the body support is up to how I would use the lens.
