Lens cap for 10-17 fisheye

My Pentax 10-17 fisheye (old SMC version) came from its original owner with a pinch-on lens cap that grips the inside of the anti-reflection baffles. It protects the front element from scratches OK, but lets in a lot of dust. So I went looking for an original slip-on type, and it's $60!!! Ugh. Anybody have any suggestions for a better lens cap that will keep dust out and won't cost as much as a M50 f/1.7?

I don't know the size, but it's a push-on type carefully designed to go over the bulbous front element without scratching it.

@BigDave The pinch cap is 58mm, but that's to grip the inside of the hood, not go over the outside.
@Luftfluss I'll check that out thanks! I did look before, but came up empty. Figured more people would lose a lens cap than a lens, so not to many surplus caps around haha.

I just PM'd you the link.

I have an older lens with a similar issue, although not as bad as with the 10-17.

I saw that a brand named Kaiser makes push-on plastic caps, so it should be the same as the one for 10-17 but not metal. You could also try a rubber lens cap, I've never tried those though and they seem to be more expensive than the plastic ones.

The universal lens caps from KUVRD seem to get good reviews. They're stretchy and padded and are water tight.

Since the 10-17 was also sold by Tokina in other mounts, I did a search for replacement lens caps for that, and found a thread where the B+W 60mm plastic push-on cap is reported to work well. I think it is around six dollars at B&H. I'm tempted to try it just because my metal cap likes to come off and rattle around the bag.

Edit: It looks like the cap is sold by B+W, but every picture of the cap has the Schneider-Kreuznach logo molded into it. Since my 10-17 is actually the Samsung-badged version, and Samsung paid Schneider-Kreuznach to use their name on lenses (even though neither Samsung nor Schneider-Kreuznach had anything to do with the design), I guess I have to buy one now.

I might try to get something for my 35 macro too while I’m at it for just that reason.
