How to create lens profiles? (LCP file)

Does anyone know how to go about creating a lens profile? Using RawTherapee, I am noticing that quite many of the lenses I have, do not have a lens profile available. In quite many profiles that there are, especially the vignetting correction "over-corrects". Any directions where to go and learn?

Another option is adding lcp files from Adobe.

How to get LCP and DCP profiles - RawPedia

With RawTherapee go and get the current LensFun database. The one that RawTherapee comes with is rather trimmed down and out of date. If you find that you still don't have a profile for a lens, lensfun has a page on creating a profile for them and on how to submit them to improve the database. Maybe our forum members should undertake this effort to fill out pentax lens support.
