I like them and of the 3 I probably like the SMC A 50/1.2 to the most. I probably use my 300 the most even if it has been supplanted by the 400 for astro.

FA31, 43, 77 definitly in my favorites in silver color of course. DA*55 was one of my most used lens, so it's in. It's all, so let the black FA43 be my fifth choice along with the silver one.

Top 5

I like small and light lenses paired with a KP, so ...

  • HD Pentax-DA 15mm F4 Limited.
  • HD Pentax-DA 35mm F2.8 Limited Macro.
  • SMC Pentax-A 50mm F1.2. - not the smallest or lightest 50mm, but it certainly is small for a f1.2 lens
  • HD Pentax-DA 70mm F2.4 Limited.
  • SMC Pentax-D FA 100mm F2.8 Macro WR.
* I prefer the HD versions of the limited lenses for I'm not a huge fan of the starburst effect and I also like their out-of-focus rendering better.

** If this was one of those "if you could only have one lens" threads it would be the HD Pentax-DA 20-40mm F2.8-4 Limited DC WR.

I don’t have favorites - they’re all just that good. I have 45 K-mount lenses (including 2 dupes that I had silvered). On any given day I like what tempts me - a silvered version might even be on the list just because I want to shoot with a one-off lens. All that being said:
  • K35/3.5
  • DFA50/1.4
  • A20/2.8
  • K85/1.8
  • FA77/1.8

Because reasons.

I currently have over 30 K mount lenses. I imagine some people on this forum have many more.
You are just barely getting started at 30 lenses Grasshopper !

Yes, I'm afraid you are right. I just did a recount, and I have 36 K mount lenses, including those on the cameras in my collection. I have 14 Pentax K mount bodies, though, does that count?

14 bodies , and 36 lenses ?
Are the lenses really Body caps ? Or are the bodies serving as Lens Caps ?
This is the age old question that must be answered to determine the true depth and full extent of your illness !
I suspect that you are deeply infected with one of the sub-classes of acquisition syndromes that runs rampant on this forum !
Not to worry though as you seem to have only the "K" variant of this syndrome at the moment.

Well my current favorite lenses are not necessarily the best as compact size is important to me. For FF:
The glaring hole (especially given I shoot mostly landscapes) is a favorite lens wider than 28mm. This is because I don't really have an ideal fit (compact, wide enough, good IQ and relatively affordable) for me but on often carrying one of:
* Pentax K 17mm f4 fisheye (carry it quite a bit as its so small - and sometimes use then defish)
* Sigma EX 20mm DG f1.8 (a bit on the bulky and heavy side for me but still carry it quite often - IQ can be good if focused correctly)
* Cosinon 24mm f2.8 (small and compact but only "Ok" all round performance)
This is interesting as my needs are similar (also for K-1). There is also some overlap to what I currently have:

* Sigma 28mm f/1.8 - not wide enough
* Sigma 20mm f/1.8 - new acquisition which I am still learning to know. So far it looks good IQ wise, but it is not WR. it always rains where I need to take pictures!
* Irix 11mm f/4 - excellent in many places (such as wide open hillsides) but it is too wide for even some landscapes and corners distortion limits usability in built environments. WR
* DFA 15-30 - my go-to choice if it is a phography trip. Too large and heavy to take for family outings or city trips..

So my long time wish toward Pentax has been an affordable weather resistant 15 or 20 maybe up to 35 mm prime, f/4 and small form factor. f/4 is perfectly good for landscape.
I will be looking into the Cosinon 24mm on your listing. In pictures it looks like the size is very pleasant.

I do not have many Pentax lenses. After using one month the M 100/2.8 I think this is my favorite one, followed by the FA 35/2 and the FA 50/ 1.4.
