Takumar Info site goes Dark?

Hey, all..

Unless my bookmarks have gone screwy, a nice site with great info about Takumar lenses has gone dark.

There was a page at m-fortytwo.info that (if my memory serves) had an exhaustive list of every Tak lens, it's model number and a short history. It was a lovely mustard yellow color, hard to forget.

It is a darn shame this resource went dark. That data should have found a home at this forum, or someone should have stepped up and offered web space to keep the page alive. Someone went to a good bit of trouble and now it seems it is gone.

I'd like to be told I'm off base on this and the page is available elsewhere ... or maybe someone knows who owned that site and we can try to rescue the data for the benefit of Pentax users everywhere.

Early Asahi Pentax Cameras and Takumar lenses: Main Page

Now you are directed somewhere different.

This page is pretty good though

I just burned a PDF of that page if anyone wants a copy of it should the site stay dead.

I'd be happy to host it but not sure who "owns" the page...

Apparently, m-fortytwo.info forgot to renews it address. Judging by the google results, it did exist, and was at m-fortytwo. info but has only recently lapsed. Not enough people would've gone to a pageholder site selling insurance to rank it up that high.

I think if it's posted with a note indicating that it was originally created and posted by the now defunct m-fortytwo.info you'll be covered. If the owner suddenly jumps up and asks that it be removed and you comply, no one is in trouble.

It's just a shame that all that work would disappear into the Internet twilight when its of such use to us....

I've saved the whole page on my local PC. Can we post the content here at the forum and stick it?

Ditto. I don't mind providing extra hosting space if necessary.

This one seems to have a purdy big list of Takumars. Don't know if it's any good, though.

M42 is a site dedicated to M42 adaptator lenses. You will find here tests, from argentic to numeric cameras and oldest to newest M42 lenses. Members described their work and the used lens. Oldies, but goldies!
