Truth is, it sort of sucks even with zooms having moderate range. I am hoping that the new APS-C will feature something like Nikon's automated AF adjust feature along with the ability to save focal-length-specific corrections.

On a related note, my question with this new lens compared to the non-Pentax Tamron version is, will it require firmware updates to camera bodies and DCU allowing them to recognize it and apply the proper lens corrections and profiles? If it does, I would expect to see firmware updates released very soon. I suppose for Lightroom, ACR, and other editing programs one could just manually apply one of the Tamron profiles, if needed, until they add the Pentax profiles, if they ever do.

Iím hoping there are enough other lenses coming out that the firmware updates arenít immediate...
