Smc k 55 1.8 ??

I quess I could wait and find out because on a whim I just purchased this lens.
At $30 I couldn't be too wrong. The lens review section has some pretty good comments about this lens. But I don't see any photos posted by it.
I would just like some opinions if you have any. Aslo, I cann't find too much info and was wondering if this has the same lens diagram as the takumar 55 1.8. I was actually wanting the takumar but seen this.... hope I didn't jump the gun.

Anyway, I should have it in about a week hopefully.

Thanks,

Oren

i find it very nice! focus action is very smooth. really nice focal length i think. i don't have that much uploaded with it, but you can look here, or here for more.

i'd be really interested to know how you think it compares to your nokton, i've had my eye on that one since i found out about it. the longer FL and faster aperture a very attractive, as well as the a-functionality.

it looks like both the K-mount and various m-42 pentax 55's are all 6 element designs. if you look here you can try to compare to the diagram here (click on the optical formula). they look identical to me.

i got my 55 for about $35, so unless we both got jipped, i'd say you did OK.

architorture,
thanks for the links. I am not really understanding some of it though. I see macro shots with the smcpk 55 1.8 tag. This thing doesn't do macro does't it?
I seen one earlier on ebay that stated it did 1:1 and thought it was a typo or something. Never heard such a thing before.
Looks like it does match the takumar diagram though so from what I see from the pictures posted from that I couldn't have went wrong.
Thanks

Oren

Oren, no lens is bad for $30, trust me.

I have the K 55mm f/2 and am going to sell it because it hardly sees any action, but I've found no fault with it. Great build and typically good Pentax IQ.
