DA 70mm 2.4 Sample Images?

Hi Everyone!

I just discovered this great forum!
I was wondering if anyone has any images taken with the DA 70 limited they wouldn't mind posting. I'm particularly interested in portraits but anything you've got would be great. My 50 1.4 broke on me and I'm considering replacing it with the 70. I absolutely loved that lens but I can't risk another one doing the same thing two years down the road. It simply fell apart. So, I'm looking for a more durable alternative. I just bought the DA 40 2.8 but I am just not feeling the love yet. I do love the solid feel of it though.

Thanks in advance for your help!

An example of why the 70mm Limited doesn't suck...

Thanks so much! Don't know how I missed that thread when I was digging around. It's just what I was looking for.
I may have judged the DA 40 too soon. I processed a couple more and they are pretty nice. I just thought I'd be wowed SOOC. I'm going to take it out again tomorrow. I think it's just that the 50mm was super sharp and I may be spoiled from it.

Two VERY helpful links. Thank you so much!
It is so nice to be here with all you Pentax users! I am such a minority in the other forums I frequent.

Some images with the da 70 ltd:

I really love this lens, and as you can see it can be very versatile. It's not just a portrait lens. Just buy it, trust me, you won't be disappointed.

I couldn't agree more, I consider the 70mm as one of the best lens, if not the best, I have ever owned, and I have owned some of Pentax's finest over the last 18 years.

It's not bad for sports either!

Those are some really nice images! Thanks so much for taking the time to post such a nice variety too. I like what I am seeing! I think I might just have to go for it. Some of these seem to have the same quality bokeh I use to get with my 75mm on my 645n.
I would love an 85mm really fast prime but it seems that is just a dream with my Pentax.

I really appreciate all the help!

I got this lens recently and so far it's great. Its low light capabilities are definitely impressive. The AF is fast too.

I usually hate selective coloring, but frankly that is awesome. Well-done.

I agree, that is an excellent use of selective coloring. And everyone's put forth a great set of images - this is such a seductive lens!

I can report it does pretty well on a film camera as well. But it really shines -for me- at the close-ish portrait and product shot range.

Funny: if you do an image search of the Env phone, you'll get pics of my daughter holding her brand new phone, taken with a DA 70

These were some of the first pics I took with my then-new birthday 70 as well, the learning curve isn't very steep with this lens on digital

DA 70mm 2.4

Framed - I'm a little bias towards this lens but the results from several examples above seem to indicate a pretty good optic. If you have a need for such a lens I don't think you can go far wrong with this one.

DA 70mm for Sports?

I was shooting some pictures for the yearbook at the football game today. I thought I'd take a break from shooting manually and gave the DA 70mm a go. This sports thing is a lot easier when you don't actually have to focus yourself. In the following sequence of four shots the runner (81) spun out of the initial tackle for a positive gain.

I may have to use this lens more often.

Cheers

^^^^^ Great football shots (and great shots all around in this thread). I have this lens on the way from ebay (got a sweet deal with the cashback and an ebay coupon). I was deciding between the DA 70mm and the FA 77mm, and I chose the DA 70mm for a couple of reasons. I am really excited about it--should receive it shortly.
