So I went back to the camera shop and luckily they still had the lens. This is an old one, right. 1959-1962ish. What is a good price, or max price I should have paid for this lens? I had to deal with the owner and not one of his employees. I should have bought it Saturday. I'm sure that I could have gotten a better deal.

$40 with a new cap. He didn't have the original, so he threw one in. Apparently he has a box of old lenses, but doesn't know where they are at the moment.

$40!? You got an excellent price for that. In fact, I'd buy pretty much any Takumar in good condition for $40.. Nice find

It was a steal. I would have gone up to twice that much for that lens. I gave $70 for my S-M-C 105/2.8. And if something ever happened to it I would go twice that much to replace it.
