Help, screw type for DA lens, broken screw

Hi Guys,

I broken few screw (stripped screw) when trying to open a Pentax DA lens.
does anyone know the type of the screw so that I can buy some replacement one?

I guess the screws are of the same type for most DA lens. so is it metric or imperial ? what size ?

These screws are Japanese (JIS) screws so I'm pretty sure they are metric. I have seen bags of camera screws on ebay.

If it were an Asahi lens I would guess like M1.7 × 3 or M1.7 × 2 pan head screws. M indicates metric. I don't know if the contemporary lenses are still using 1.7mm diameter screws but back in the MF film days 90% of the screws on the lenses and bodies were M1.7. If you have a digital caliper measure the shaft diameter and do a web search on (for example) "M1.7 x 3 machine screws" and several sources should show up.

Get yourself set of JIS drivers (not Philips drivers) and you likely won't be stripping the heads any longer.

It is metric. looking at the screw, put a drop of blue or even red locktite on it and screw it back in wiping of any excess then let it set up and you should be good for a long while.
