Old Chinon CP-7m and SMC Pentax-A 50mm 1.17

I won an auction last week for a Chinon CP-7m with a Pentax SMC-A 50mm 1.17 attached. The lens wasn't described in the auction, so I got lucky to spot it when looking through the pictures. Looking forward to seeing how this does on my K-1. It's a lovely little lens.

What a deal! The CP-7m is an interesting camera in that it calculates metering for program and Tv modes on the fly during stop-down allowing those modes with any K-mount lens at the time. It might even work with lenses lacking an aperture ring.

Yep! For $25 with shipping, I'm not complaining. I just took a trial run with the K-1 and the A-50mm. The color reproduction and depth on the lens are just beautiful. I have an older Sigma 70-300 as a walk-about (the one with the macro switch), and it's nice, but nothing like this.

Glancing through the user manual for the CP-7m, this seems like a better camera (not counting reliability / build quality, which I cannot know) than a Super Program. I'd rather have a more simple camera but there's definitely a lot to like here.

I’ll definitely be testing it with some film. I have a more-simple Vivitar which I am also playing with now.
