Pentax HD Pentax-D FA 24-70mm f/2.8 ED SDM WR on Z1 film camera

Dear pentaxians ...
will the HD Pentax-D FA 24-70mm F2.8 ED SDM WR lens work well on my Pentax Z1 film camera?
I am wondering because it is designed for a ff digital camera.
Do you have experience and what are the results ?
I need new "all around" lens and I am afraid to buy 28-70 2.8 because it is an old lens and it is hard to find good one.
Thanks in advance
Lazar

Even the first Pentax DSLR bodies had no AF capability for lenses having their own built-in AF motors, which is why Pentax designed their earlier SDM lenses with the addition of screw-driven function so they could be used on the earlier-model camera bodies. The comparatively recent DFA 24-70mm, having a completely different SDM design apparently does not also have screw-driven AF capability.

Hi Lazar,

I have a Pentax Z1 (because I still shoot film alongside digital) , and be aware that e.g. an Irix 11mm will not fit too on a Z1 body. It is in need for a cripled mount (aperture simulator will be in the way). For film you may use e.g. a MZ-30 (cripled mount) or all the digital bodies.

Just in case you will ask.

Kind regards, Ron
