There is a 105 f2.8 Macro on ebay that is a Richo, but it's the same glass as the Vivitar Series 1 105 2.8 macro probably the best manual macro lens made. there is only 2 hours left to bid and its at 120.00 bucks. It's worth over 400. I would buy it but I have one.

RIKENON P MACRO 105MM 1:2.8 LENS FOR PENTAX K-MOUNT - - eBay (item 350117448638 end time Nov-02-08 12:58:52 PST)

Somehow, I think the final price of this will be substantially higher than US$120 now that it's posted here ... I hope I am wrong and you eventually get it.

I think the Vivitar S1 that is mentioned here is supposed to be F2.5 and not F2.8.

Well it's the same as a Pentax A lens. It locks in the P position. and is a true 1:1 macro. I sold my Vivitar Series 1 because it didn't have the 1:1 adapter and kept this lens. It's a real sharp lens.

This is slightly irritating. I've been watching this lens all week. Now it's probably going to go for more than it would have before. C'est la vie, I suppose. Guess I'll see what happens.

Not all Ricoh lenses have a problem...Only the ones with the Ricoh P mount. They have pin that drops into the motor drive well on the Pentax AF mount with the result that the lens is very difficult to remove. The lens in question falls into this category and should be avoided if you are planning on using a Pentax AF body. You can see the pin in one of the seller's pictures.

Always examine the mount carefully before mounting a Ricoh mount (even a Ricoh P Adaptall) on a Pentax AF body.

Hapo,
Unless you were planning on using it with an older film body, this lens should be avoided. In order to mount properly on a Pentax digital, the mount will have to be modified.

I am very familiar with Rikenons.. and have done the surgery before, without any problem. I do appreciate the concern (and I'm not being facetitious, I really do).

Not a problem! My main concern is that someone would mount one of these up without knowing the issue and have to pay big bucks to get the sucker removed.
