From what I have seen here, in other reviews and on youtube, I think this lens is a killer.

Longitudinal CAs can be a bit annoying ... they are getting better by stopping down, look here at f/4

Of course by classes better than the "purple monster" FA 77/1.8 Ltd.

Someone tell reviewers from France to make more test photos at f1.4. It's really disappointing to see such a lens presented with such a poor quality of sample photos. Hire photographer next time. Oh well, waiting for pentaxforums review.

This was just an honest opinion based on facts from the section of sample photos of the review. Definitely not something to close threads and drive members away. There are portraits at f11 and none at f1.4. Although girl's portrait shows f11 it has bokeh of fully open lens. Then when you download the photo it shows f11 again in exif. Really strange.

He was referring to the tone of the post.

The portraits are evidently not wide open as the entire model is razor sharp, which is impossible at wide apertures. I guess it's just the background being something artificial from a studio, since the other photos with the same model are clearly indoors. The bokeh shots of the bottle at f/1.4 are already very good at demonstrating how the lens works. Portraits of people at f/1.4 are clearly not what the photographer wanted.

And yes, I was referring to the tone. "Hire photographer next time" is neither an opinion nor based on fact. It's either intending to demean the reviewer or extremely tone-deaf.

Now you have to translate "Knackizität" for the non-Geman speaking forum members

I'd say "crispness"? My German is barely functional, though, so don't quote me on it

aren't there enough photos made with this lens where hardly anything is in focus?

This is a pretty good video review with lots of image comparisons and less pure yaddayadda:

Thanks for posting this ... although I'm not speaking Japanese - the different type of images tell a lot. Wonderful comparisons of DFA*50 and DFA*85 at different apertures. Both lenses deliver great results IMO. I'd really like to understand what this guy says and his final conclusions.

The flower images of the DFA*85 at different apertures starting at f/1.4 make me feel I need this lens - unfortunately ... and he seems to use my raw converter Capture One Pro ! ... ;-)
