The portraits are evidently not wide open as the entire model is razor sharp, which is impossible at wide apertures. I guess it's just the background being something artificial from a studio, since the other photos with the same model are clearly indoors. The bokeh shots of the bottle at f/1.4 are already very good at demonstrating how the lens works. Portraits of
people at f/1.4 are clearly not what the photographer wanted.
And yes, I was referring to the tone. "Hire photographer next time" is neither an opinion nor based on fact. It's either intending to demean the reviewer or extremely tone-deaf.
