Second question for DA 12-24 owers

So after the last thread I started about the 12-24, I acquired a used copy from B&H. It has rather a lot of barrel wobble. Much more than any other zoom I have. Is this a characteristic of this lens, or should I return it and try again?

Mine is very old but no barrel wobble. Basically the same as my 16-85 (which I see you have). Probably a simple fix but I don't know how to do it.

Well my 12-24 has a slight wobble when the lens is racked out on either end. I've honestly never noticed it, and don't recall it being any problem. 'has rather a lot of barrel wobble' is not how I would describe that on mine.

Only the most minor barrel wobble, really closer to none, not even noticeable unless you look for it. I don't think "a lot" would be normal. Is it affecting images?

Not sure if it's affecting images. Pulled it out of the box and found it before I had a chance to use it. I went ahead and filed for a return. I think I'll try a different copy.

I recently got an fa 43 used from an online shop as well. I loved the lens but the barrel wobbled and enough that it messed with focus accuracy. I could touch the lens barrel and see the focus plane shift in live view. My conclusion is that this is not acceptable and I've personally run across this with a number of used lenses.
