I was waiting for somebody to comment that it might be like a Porsche that won't start when it's dark outside.

Please marry me!!!!! Or at least adopt me

Hey, I spy a Tokina 400mm f/5.6 SD. Can you tell me what you think of this lens, please? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to take the thread off-track. I'd appreciate it.

Really?

And Calvin Kleins always made my ass look too big.
actually now that you mention 'it'....

Hmmph.....those shots prove nothing... beyond the fact that you either own a heap of Pentax stuff, or you live next door Jim King....

Thats is one awesome collection Wheatfield.

You? Acerbic?? Who knew?

What's a fan boy? Anyone with a differing opinion?

Well anyway, the point was that I stay with Pentax for the lenses.
And yes, that is a Tokina SD 400/5.6 in the background.
If you want it, PM me. I'll happily sell it to to.
I have an A400/5.6 that is my keeper.

you need a better metaphore.

while it is true that if you look at the ratios od fords and camry's sold, against Lamborghini or Porche might truely represent the ratio of sales of Nikon and Canon vs Pentax, somehow, the price ratio is backwards, the equivelent performance pentax lens and body is usually less than canon or nikon, not 10 times more (considering the price of the Lamborghini or Porche )

Although I's sure someone will comment about speed and performance and say that pentax does not have the comparitive performance of Lamborghini or Porche compared to ford and camry.
Lowell: The metaphor might be better stated "Mercedes CLS 350, BMW 5-Series" vs. "Subaru Spec.B" - they're all sport sedans, but the Subaru is the best value, and the performance equal.

Monochrome,

I knew that there was something about you.... Dropping a Subaru reference, and Spec.B no less! Impressive.

Wheatfield,

You tried to spread them out but I see 3 LXs in that photo. Nice bodies to go with the nice lenses!

Nice collection Wheatfield. If I had that many lenses I'd stay with Pentax too. I lived in Manitoba for a number of years and it seemed to me there were a lot more Pentax users in the West than I see in Ontario. I'm not sure if you guys in the West are smarter or maybe Wheatfield bought all the lenses before they could get to Ontario.

Cheers,

Tom G

....
I knew you had quite some Pentax glass, but didn't expect that many!

Oh well, I guess Jim King isn't the only mad one here ...

I wish I could keep as many Pentax gear, but the humid weather here in Singapore only allows me to keep what I use once in a while ...

Thinking man's camera; thinking man's car.

Alas, they dropped manual, too.

Oh man..

From memory, and probably not all in the picture:

10-17, 12-24, Da14, A15, Super Tak 17 fishee, Tokina 17/3.5, A20/2.8, DA21, A24/2.8, A&M 28/2.8, FA31, A35/2, FA35/2, M40, DA40, FA50/1.4, A50/ 1.2, 1.4, M 50/1.4, K50/1.4x2, I think an M50/2, possibly an A as well, Nokton 58/1.4, 70, 77, M85/2, A85/1.4, A100/2.8Macro, K105/2.8, M150/3.5 (a gem of a lens, BTW), M200/4, FA200/4Macro, F300/4.5, A400/5.6, the aforementioned Tokina 400/5.6, Tokina 80-200/2.8, Tamron 500/8 Mirror (definitely not in the picture), A600/5.6.
I think thats the lot, plus I've accumulated some screw mount equipment........

oh hell yes, SpecB I agree with this 100%. the legacy is truly a thinking mans car.

though for the record, id rather have a car with a little less sophistication. maybe an STi SpecC GroupN? yea that will do. maybe an N10? it kind of went down hill in the looks department after that.
