Tripod foot - DA 60-250, DA*300

Would like to check with those who might have these two lenses.

Based on what i read from various threads here, it seems that both DA 60-250 and the DA*300, share the exact same tripod foot.

Will that be so?

I do not have either of the lenses, but based on images i see, the one on DA*300 seem to be slightly longer in length (could be optical illusion, i cannot be sure).

Hi Termy

My 300 has gone in for fixing. I took off the foot part ( it screws on ), but the collar is still on the lens.( I could not see how it comes off ).
As for the 60 - 250 I am unsure.

They are quite different. The one attached to the camera is the 60-250.

The one on mine matches the image at B&H, meaning they are very similar. I believe they are interchangeable as well, as Nodal Ninja sells/sold a replacement foot which fit either.

In the following screenshots from B&H, they look very similar, apart from the scale. Now I'm curious about the one that MoRoTAS has, as it's 'taller' than mine. Was there an early or late version or something like that?

Hi Yucatan

The foot comes of the collar on both lenses .?
On Mo Ro Tas 's the picture of the foot 60 - 250's is 180 deg to that of the 300's so you can't tell.

Yes, the foot is detachable from both lenses.

Hi Yucatan

Does the collar also come off easily or is it part of the barrel assembly ?
I tried to on my 300 but ran out of time.

it does seem like the tripod foot for both DA 60-250 and DA*300, are same (or, at the very least, even if they aren't same, is most likely interchangeable).

oops, apologies for this 8th thread.

I did go through all those other threads, although, having gone through them, could not have a conclusive Yes or No, on whether those two lenses share the exact same tripod foot.

But yes, could have built on one of the other seven (although the Qn wouldnt really fit with the heading).

the foot of the DA*60-250 is a bit longer, as you can see in the 3. thread. The Picture of MoRoTas above shows the difference. But they are completly intercharable and share the same mount with the Q FF Adapter. You can use the size you like most.

I have had two copies of the DA*60-250. The second copy I still have, and was bought just this year.

Both have/had the taller, longer tripod foot.

. . . . . . The lens also has a removable tripod mount. The mount has an adjustable collar that allows the lens to be rotated while mounted. The collar has notches every 90 degrees that allow you to quickly adjust the lens to take vertical pictures without removing the lens from the tripod mount. The tripod mount can be removed easily with a coin or other flat object. Once the mount has been removed, the only indications that the lens has a mount are two small hollows on the bottom of the lens. Below is a picture of the mount and the bottom of the lens.. . .

. . . The tripod mount features an innovative design; instead of removing the entire collar supporting the tripod foot, only the foot can be removed from the lens, while the collar itself remains in place at all times. The small foot can then be stored easily. The foot attaches firmly to the lens with a screw that can be tightened by hand, but also features a screwdriver slot if you’re really worried.

Mine is also the bigger one. I like it since it's easier to hold the lens from the foot when carrying, and it's easier to slip fingers underneath when handling.

I know it by mind that they share the same lens foot mount.
That's why the threads conclude all products using the same lens foot mount and can be switched - independend from the foot length.
