A new lens won’t decrease the demands of a toddler nor an impatient wife. Perhaps improving your technique, especially in previsualizing the scene, zone focusing, camera operation, and familiarity with wide angle composition, would give you better results. Not as satisfying as buying a new lens, but sure to yield to visible improvements no matter the lens.
