Sigma 70-200 HSM Test Photos @ 200/2.8 and 5.6

Here are some test pics to argue over the 2.8 softness at 200mm in the new Sigma.

I have decided to post and listen instead of making any comments.

The First is 200mm @ 2.8 with no adjustments.

The Second is 200mm @ 5.6 with no adjustments

Last is a 100% Crop of the original 200 @ 2.8 photo with Sharpening in Lr

Just out of curiosity, were these handheld or shot on a tripod?

That's the same experience I have. It's softer at 200mm than at 70mm as well. I still love using this lens wide open though, and I like how most of the softness can be fixed using sharpening.

There may be some softness at 200mm f/2.8, but detail is retained, and the shots do not look bad.

I would like to know how check for FF/BF.
These shots were done with AF with no manual focus touch up.

Is there a thread that takes me through this?

Thanks in advance, joe
