Tamron 1.4x pz-af mc4 converter on f2.8

Which lens would the converter work on with no problems? The tamron f2.8 70-200mm or the sigma f2.8 70-200mm. I read posts that said the sigma f2.8 70-200 does not work with the converter.

Looking on the Sigma Website it only talks about the sigma version being compatable.

" * Sigma APO Tele Converter 1.4x and 2x are dedicated Tele Converter lenses, which should be used with listed lenses only.
* AF function of Pentax mounts cannot be used with SFX/SF7 cameras.
* Do not use the APO Tele Converter EX on top of another APO Tele Converter, or any other kinds of converters. "

Sigma - Lenses - Teleconverters

Hopefully that helps.

Let me know how that works out. I'm looking to get one.

In the Tamron TC thread one of the guys has used the Tamron x1.4 on the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 ... It's the Sigma TCs that don't fit other lenses due to the element orientation.

The Tamron TC fits all of my lenses ... even my M42 gear as well.

Works great. I didn't really test it extensively but the only thing that is noticeable right away is that the AF is a little louder but I don't see it as that big a deal. Here are some quick test shots to show the difference in reach:

Tamron 70-200 @ 70mm (all at wide open)

@70mm w/ TC

@200mm

@200mm w/ TC
