great photos here.

about the lens cap, use an old film canister cap (the older ones, not the ones today). fits perfect, pops into place

Erik, those are great pics.

You can think of the K100D + DA 40td as the best compact P&S on the planet!

This thread is doing absolutely nothing to cure my desire for this lens. Those are amazing shots. I especially liked the kid with the pop can, and the train/commuter station.

My first Pentax prime! I like this lens very much. Bought it used recently for a good price and I'm happy with the way it makes the K100D so compact. The funky lens cap/hood combo I could have lived without, though.

Took it out yesterday, shot some random things around the 'hood:

Your images are really quick amazing. I love your sense of framing and unconventional approach. Bravo!

No kidding. I want one and I don't even NEED one...

ProDigital is offering them on eBay for C$246 or Best Offer... with Christmas coming around, that'd make a really nice gift... for me!

Little wonder

I think those two words exactly sum up DA40.
My most used lens by mile. It's highly portable, does great job indoors, excellent outdoors, great sharpness and colours, etc....
Here are some of my pics with this lens.
enjoy

Great lens

Why I like? If there is enough differentiation between foreground and backgroud the maximum aperture is enough to get that great bokeh effect and of course its fantastic portablility and image quality.

Here's are some photos using my cameraphone to show my DA40 with the film canister cap (older kind of canisters). Pops perfectly into place and stays there and pop it out when you wanna shoot. No more fiddling and looking where to pinch on the cap.
