Extensive 35mm comparison (7 lenses)

Landscape at infinity (with crops 100% centre and corner) and a proxi with crop 50% :

(PO stands for max aperture)

Samyang is impressive and could be better (I am not sur of the focus for landscape picture)
The little old 1958 Takumar 35/4 is not that bad !

All shots with Canon 6D and crops taken on raw pictures (20 MPix)

In the wide open corner shot the 2.3 is nicely sharp.
There is not a lot of difference in results from lenses spanning 70 years is there?

Is the yellowish tinge for the S-M-C Tak 35/2 due to thorium glass?

I find the 2.3 not that bad taking in account its age, but it is less sharp than some other lenses. The good surprise is clearly the 35/4 which is a good competitor despite being the very first wide angle lens for SLR's !

Steve
Yes, the small 35/2 uses radioactive elements and my lens is strongly yellowed
