OK, I admit it, it was me. I hope I did the right thing...

My wife is looking for a new husband, if anyone is interested in applying for the position. She's in good shape, with few signs of use and very little dust inside. Only been mounted 1 or 2 times, or maybe none.

When I was looking to purchase a new FA*200/4, the retail price was very close to Can$3K. I didn't pay anywhere near that much for mine, but then, I got a refurbished one, not a brand new one.
It is an incredible macro lens, though once outside of macro focusing distance, the bokeh gets pretty funky.
As far as the price being highway robbery, more than one person was willing to bid it that high, so for some, it must be worth that kind of money.

Actually, there was only 1 bidder. It shows "2", but when you look at the bidding history, including automatics, it was the same bidder. Not really sure why it shows up as 2 though.

Thats usually because the bidder puts his initial bid then decides he wants to up the bid a bit more just in case someone tries to outbid him. (lots of bids in that sentence).

Sold up in order to buy fountain pens????

I guess everyone has their quirks. I wonder how many pens this will equate to?
Could be a single fountain pen..Some sell for $10,000.00 & more..

A high-quality run-of-the-mill pen destined for everyday use that will last for a lifetime will generally set someone back $300.00-$500.00, depending on the nib desired..

Most modern men & women have completely forgotten how to write words using script..The only thing that most of us write is our signature..Most of us do that task very poorly & illegibly..

I know that before I start to write anything with my fountain pen I have to sit down & practice copying out the alphabet, both upper case & lower case letters..I do this in order to re-familiarize my brain, & to bring back my muscle memory in my hand for writing script..

One of the things that I'd like to start doing again is to correspond with a handful of people using my fountain pen as a means of forming words on paper..

There is a joy in writing with a high-quality fountain pen that must be experienced in order to truly understand..

Like the difference between using a manual focus film camera versus a digital SLR..Or, riding a motorcycle versus driving a car..Or, driving a stick-shift manual transmission (three on the tree!!!) versus driving a car with an automatic transmission.. Or, skiing with properly-waxed cross-country skis versus modern waxless ones..Or, shooting a finely-made black powder muzzleloading rifle versus a modern, run of the mill factory rifle..Or, shooting a hand-made wooden recurve or longbow versus a modern fiberglass & aluminum compound bow..Etc., etc., etc..
