FA* 200mm macro went for just a tad under $3000 in this auction.

So, who got it?

Sorry Robin... already have one... Besides, I cannot use 2 at the same time...

Magnus: I don't know about that price, but mine is a very sharp lens, even for macro!!! See my review in the lens database, or macro images on my website.

Regards,
Marc

Sold up in order to buy fountain pens????

I guess everyone has their quirks. I wonder how many pens this will equate to?

I can only guess it's that good but it would seem to have gain quite a bit in value?

I always wonder how much good shots one needs to make before you're break-even.

Although it gets very good reviews I still have to see a shot that shows me it is worth much more over my Vivitar or one of the other highly regarded macro lenses which go for a much lesser cost.

You should send that over to Parker Bros. or someone. Maybe you'll be sent a free pen and they'll start printing T-shirts.

When I was looking to purchase a new FA*200/4, the retail price was very close to Can$3K. I didn't pay anywhere near that much for mine, but then, I got a refurbished one, not a brand new one.
It is an incredible macro lens, though once outside of macro focusing distance, the bokeh gets pretty funky.
As far as the price being highway robbery, more than one person was willing to bid it that high, so for some, it must be worth that kind of money.

Most of his bug stuff is with a 200 macro
