Would that link be an example of click-click-click-bait!

(Great idea, BTW.)

The scale only goes to 10, yellow lenses are surely at 11?

Anyway, you can buy a lot of hot lenses for that money.

Ha-ha. Click-click-click might not be too bad. If it starts sounding like a high-pitched machine gun, that would be more worrisome.

And it comes in a convenient travel size that slips easily into your camera bag, right next to your lens tissues!

There is a sucker born every minute and there are people that really think the lenses are harmful to their health. The vendor actually does have a disclaimer about calibration, which is very important in radiation technology.

I intended this post to be tongue-in-cheek. Please don't take it seriously.

"these Geiger counters should not be used to determine safe or unsafe levels of radiation exposure."

They are admitting unless you have some pretty specific training and knowledge they are pretty much useless, basically.

As if the internet hasn't given me enough reasons to facepalm already.

I guess we haven't had a good "Is my thoriated takumar going to kill me" in a while. I'm both pleased and some what surprised this hasn't turned into one.

I say this as I have one of mine getting UV bleached to clear the yellowing problem.

Problem? It's a warming filter with no extra glass!

I call that a feature.

and I thought you put a "danger radioactive " sticker on those lenses and used them as theft prevention devices when mounted to your camera

Works wonders.

Reminds me of my old school days (mid-60s). One of my professors was an early investigator in the field of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance. Nowadays, the "nuclear" part is NEVER mentioned - it's just "magnetic resonance imaging."

Don't forget the radiation dose of potassium-40 you get whenever in the presence of a banana as well - what a dangerous world we live in!
