I have the new 85, and it is truly incredible. So I have voted accordingly. Of course I have used none of the other lenses, so my vote (as are probably everyone else's) means essentially nothing.

As an aside, I didn't know Fuji had produced a 50/1.0. The results I have seen from their older 56/1.2 are wonderful, so this new lens might be another candidate for the gong.
Didn't those two drunk ex-Camera Store guys at DPR give that Fuji their worst product of the year award?

This indeed is a very exciting lens like all Pentax * are. When the review will be out I'm sure it is going to be a success. With a lens like this I might actually take more telephoto shots!

Maybe, but how would I know that? I pay absolutely no attention to DPR, unless I'm directed there by threads like this

Yes they did, as they did with the K-1 II, which as everyone knows is a terrible, terrible camera and will never sell

Voted, but I think this poll is somewhat unfair as it's shows more like which system is popular

Let's be honest, this is a popularity contest, nothing more.
No objection from me.

The point of voting, AFAIC, is to let them know that there are Pentax users who value the new products.

There are idiotic comments over at DPReview from otherwise very reasonable people stating that Pentax is entirely irrelevant at this time and that it would be irresponsible of DPReview to review any of their products (rather they should use the time for products that matter). I wouldn't mind such a comment if it came from one of the well-known trolls but it came from someone who does really good reviews themselves.

While I appreciate that Pentax has become a niche brand, I'd like people (and in particular DPReview) to understand that there sufficiently many of us to make coverage of Pentax products worthwhile.

Still at 3.7%
Currently at 3.8%.

This means it is currently sitting on place 10 of 33, as most lenses received a smaller percentage of votes.
That's not bad at all.

3.8% means there have been 43 of 1135 votes for the D FA*

This is just my gut feeling, but I don't think any non-Pentaxian voted for the D FA*. In contrast, I'm sure some Pentaxians voted for non-Pentax lenses.

At a DPReview poll you can vote for the HD Pentax-D FA* 85mm F1.4 ED SDM AW as the best prime lens of 2020.

Would be nice to bump it to a good place, showing that it is appreciated despite the fact that DPReview have not reviewed it yet.

P.S.: You only need to drag the Pentax lens to the top position. Further nominations are entirely optional, i.e., this will take all but a minute.

Thanks to all who voted already!

The poll will be open for another week, so it's not too late to make a difference.

Imagined for a moment where our 85 wins at least in top three. I'm sure if Pentax was as popular as other brands this could be real.

If every petaxforums-member with dpreview-login would vorte for the D FA* 85mm, it should get a higher rank

Absolutely. It's all about the masses. Like if in some decade the use of an optical viewfinder would get popular again.
But the most profit from the masses can be taken by introducing cew technologies, new lens mounts and marketing the advantages of this.

I rest my case, Jonathan. Who else will still defend these guys?

It's juvenile to visibly be under the influence of alcohol (or, hey, it's show business - to appear to be under the influence, Dean Martin did that trick) and do damage to a reputation, because it provides them with a convenient 'out' ... ("Oh, you shouldn't take what we said seriously, because we didn't. It's just festive fun.")

The equivalent of drunk texting is *not* journalism.
