At a DPReview poll you can vote for the HD Pentax-D FA* 85mm F1.4 ED SDM AW as the best prime lens of 2020.

Would be nice to bump it to a good place, showing that it is appreciated despite the fact that DPReview have not reviewed it yet.

P.S.: You only need to drag the Pentax lens to the top position. Further nominations are entirely optional, i.e., this will take all but a minute.

Seems too appropriate for discourse these days.

Very sad, but very true.

If that lens is half as good as its predecessor the PENTAX FA * 85m F1.4 will be a great lens.

But taking into account all the advances and quality that are being applied in this new stage of PENTAX (RICOH) I think it has to be one of the best 85mm on the market.

I have already voted

And if it's twice as good?

Our HD D-FA* 85/1.4 (which is at least as good as the HD D-FA* 50/1.4) still sits at rank 10 with a score of 3.7%.

There is still time to push it further up.

That was easy
Wonder if dpthoughts will claim voter fraud if it ends as the best 2020 prime lens...

I don't think we can do that, honestly. And then, only the "winner" would go to the next stage - this is a popularity contest designed to popularize what's already popular (and did I say 'popular' enough?).
Pentax might even be the best lens in the list, it doesn't matter.

"Fraud! The entire process is RIGGED! I'm calling on my lawyers, great great AMAZING lawyers, to overturn the results of this RIGGED poll! Going to bring it ALL. THE. WAY!"

Our HD D-FA 85/1.4 landed on place 10, out of 33 lenses. That's very respectable, as far as I'm concerned.

I know that one cannot take such polls seriously -- two Canon f/11 lenses that will not be used by many photographers landed ahead of the Pentax 85/1.4 -- but I find it encouraging that we as a group can register in such polls.

I actually saw 2 of those new f/11 lenses recently. Some people were photographing snowy owls with them.

The Canon 800/11 is currently out of stock at B&H and Adorama, and there is 1 left at Amazon. The 600/11 is readily available.

This could just mean that supply is even lower than demand.

New products -- PS5, new graphics cards, etc. -- are sold out everywhere because supply has been so poor.
