Favorite Limited Lens for Landscapes?

I would like to add a wide angle Limited lens for Landscapes, and would like to get feedback and any suggestions. I'm curious what is the most popular Limited wide angle lens?

TIA!!

It would help people to answer if you gave your sensor size - APS-C or FF?

You don't mention whether you are after a lens for FF or APS-C but some popular choices:
FF:
* FA 43 - although technically not wide, its certainly very useful for landscapes
* FA 31 - a great performer!
* DFA 21 - hopefully coming soon!

APS-C
* DA 21 - I don't own one but its very popular and a great focal length
* DA 15 - A nice compact lens that performs well. I like mine
* DA 20 - 40 - again I don't have it but its a versatile lens with most of the ability of the primes

Of course there are lots of great non limited lens options (both prime and zoom) too.

Sorry, I have the K70.

I guess I'm open to other primes if they are comparable to the Limited Lenses.

for an APS-C wide lens, I always start with the DA 14mm f2.8 - superior lens (but nowhere near as tiny as the DA 15 Ltd)...

Any of the FA Limited lenses make great landscape lenses. Years ago I traded my DA 15 for a FA* 24 with another forums member. I'd suggest also looking for a used FA* 24 if you're looking for a wide angle lens.

Unedited image from the K-1 and FA 31

K10D and FA 43

K10D and FA 77

K10D and FA* 24 (sorry there are people in this "landscape")

Hi

Interesting question.

Part one... wide angle limited ........ 15 , 21, 31 , 20 - 40.

Part two .... limited for landscapes ....... all of them!

Part three .. suggestions .... all of them !

Part four ..... most popular .... 15 , 21

Part five ... other choices ... any lens that will mount to your camera can be used for landscapes , it is such a broad question you ask.

Hope that helps

Dave

For landscapes, the lens is usually stopped down to fairly narrow apertures. From my experience, Pentax FA Limited lenses, when stopped down past F/4 or so, lose quite a bit of character that people buy them for. However, in the crop sensor realm, there are lenses such as DA 15 and 20-40 zoom. The first one has a cult following here (look for a thread '15 limited controls my mind'), and the latter is famous for its resistance to flare and ghosting, so it should be pretty awesome for landscaping. Unfortunately, I own only FA limiteds, so I cannot say much more about these DAs.

Why primes, and then specifically why limited primes? Certainly not all limited lenses appear to be known for the same characteristics, so if it's a characteristic you're looking for, you should say that what is to get better suggestions.

While neither prime nor Limited I personally think you should consider the Pentax DA 12-24.

I think that more than a few responses have touched on this but what do you mean by landscape?
I have the DA 15/21/35macro and 20-40.
I also have the FA 31/43/77.
All are good for landscapes.
I also have the FAJ 18-35 and the Fa 80-320. They are both good for landscape as I see it as these images are typically shot between f8 and f16.
So what is it that you are after ?

Primarily, I'm looking for the best image quality in the 15-35mm range. I have the 35/3.5 and love that lens. I also have some longer reach lenses. Just need something wider for landscapes.
