I'm trying to decide which lens to go with an eventual Pentax DSLR purchase.
Here's the scenario: Pentax LX with 50-m 1.7, 28-m 2.8, Viv S1 70-210 3.5, 28-90 2.8-3.x
Since I currently don't have a DSLR (PowerShot SD700 currently for digital), I'll be getting either the k200 or k2000 (easier to decide if I can get my hands on either one)
1. If I get the 18-55 kit lens: pair it with 50-200
1a. or 55-300?
or
2. Just get the 18-250 and forget about the 50-200/55-300 as well as the 18-55?
I'm intrigued by the 18-250 and it's convenience however-
-cost
-f stop speed (at what focal length does the f stop change?)
With the 50-200 or 55-300 - same question regarding f-stops.
I borrowed a Nikon D60 for a couple of days with the 2 lens kit to shoot my kids' marching band and found the 50-200 lacking in reach. Of course, I was constrained to the stands so then again it may have been a rare event.
I may eventually get something wider with these lenses but that's for another time and another thread, after I spend time shooting
Sorry if this has been asked before but i can't seem to find any threads comparing the 18-250 with either the 50-200 or the 55-300
