SMC Takumar 1:4/200 Lens Needs Repair

The diaphragm is inoperative and won't close down in either manual or auto position. It remains wide open. Anyone know of a reliable repair shop (preferably in the New York City metro area). The lens is an M42 type mount and was purchased in 1975.

Fiddle with the pin inside the mount. I just managed to get mine stuck and then unstuck by doing this trying to diagnose your problem.

Aside from sentimental value, it might be less expensive just to buy another her one. I paid less than $50CDN for mine

Yes, I did try that with the pin, but to no avail. But thanks for the tip.

Yes, I am looking into that option. Sounds like you got a great deal.
