Both new and used have advantages. That’s a tough one. Most of my lenses were purchased used. I’ve had excellent results from the Pentax forums marketplace. But new brings benefits.

I too have had very good experience dealing with members via the marketplace

of course, there is no warranty

you might be able to buy " experienced " equipment from some vendors with a warranty

Adorama has a sale and I am hopeful that would ensure a lens built after the rumored “fix” of the autofocus issue.
