A 20/2.8 Appreciation

So, with the threat of my meager retirement fund taking yet another hit with the 21 Ltd, i thought I should take a look at a lens that has seen almost no use since I bought it.
I purchased the A 20/2.8 in the mid 1990s for a specific job that would just barely cover the price of the lens. Anyway, I don’t recall what I thought of the lens, though the client must have been happy, as I don’t remember any complaints, or even the job I bought it for.
It might have been when they were converting the old railroad station into a casino. It would have been the right time and I did some interiors of the place for a local architect.
Anyway, it occurred to me that this may have been the one and only time I have used that lens, so I thought it might be a good idea to dig it out, blow the dust off of it and see if I can see the same way it does.

HOLY COW

That is one sharp as a tack lens. I had no idea. When reaching for a wide angle lens I usually grab the 24mm, either the A/2.8 or the FA*/2. I really had no idea how good the A20/2.8 was.

So, show me what it can do, with the intention of selling me on the focal length.

It is perhaps enough to say that I would own one except for the price to acquire.

The A-20/2.8 is one of my most used lenses. I liked it quite a bit on the K-5 and love it on the K-1. Its 5-blade diaphragm produces nice 10-point starbursts.

Here's a K-5 shot.

And one from the K-1.

It is my favorite lens and most used lens on APS-C. I am still learning how to use it on the K1.

Hopefully you also bought the OEM metal lens hood, it's on the rare side.

I've got some film sample shots in my forum lens review, but no digital which is probably what you're after. (Great lens on my LX though).

I haven't had a case of LBA for a bit now (and was suffering as such), but I think you have just remedied that - thanks!

I'm quite a fan on my "Good Lady", I can also firmly blame a fellow member here, dragon132312 that got me started on this 20 mm malarkey.
