Mico Four Thirds and An Old Pentax Lens

Hey guys
I can't find a thread with this specific topic. I'm getting an Olympus OM Mark III and I have a few SLR lens from an old Pentax camera I want to use, specifically the Pentax-m 50mm. Is there an adapter I can use with that lens? the mount on the lens is a little unusual for me, it has this piece that sticks out. (check the images). will that fit on an Olympus without an adapter?

Hi and welcome
Your Olympus camera mounts it's lenses much closer to the sensor. The Pentax lens has to be set at the pentax system distance from the camera. So the adaptor (which is available) has plenty of depth to cover those protusions.

Just check Ebay, plenty of dumb adapters there, and even speed boosters with an EF ring(gets you F1.4 and 53mm).

Just a heads up, the 50mm/f2 lens is probably the least-impressive of any Pentax prime. I would not spend money on an adapter for just that lens. The 50/1.7 is a much better lens, and not very expensive. There are many great old Pentax lenses, but this on is OK at best (not terrible, but not amazing).

Also don't overlook some of the old Ricoh lenses and others. Many of the off brands were made by Ricoh, Kiron, Chinon etc. Also some good adaptalls. Years ago I used to buy these with the Pentax to OM adapter for my Oly E3 & E5 before I switched.
