Interesting! The Pentax-K 100/4 Bellows has a very ordinary six bladed iris.

Same as my M 100 f4 non bellows. It makes a very hexagon f22.

I just purchased two very nice 400mm/F5.6 Primes. A Tokina SL 400mm/5.6 and a Pentax A 400mm/5.6. So far I like the Pentax lens better as it has much more focus travel than the Tokina, is sharper and has more contrast.

Tokina

Pentax

No question about the Pentax lens being a rebadged Tokina in that instance, then.

I’m very curious about the A28/2, there is very little information about it. What do you think of it? Is it worth pursuing one?

I'm ashamed to admit I am yet to use it. But it will happen, I promise....

I shoot alot of street photography, mainly with two primes (a Ricoh XR Rikenon 35mm & Pentax "K" 55mm f1.8), but there was times where I needed something a bit wider & a bit longer in reach, so I ended up getting a Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 ($205 with taxes from MPB.com) so I could get that extra wide-end & extra reach all in one place & dont have to constantly change lenses.

A lens I just purchased is the Pentax-FA 50mm f2.8 Macro ($155 with taxes from KEH), mainly to use for digitizing all my 35mm film negatives, an ro do some macro photography too.

With those two lenses, I pretty much have my "Ultimate K-mount Kit". Now just have to deal with selling the Ricoh lens & Pentax lens so the wallet doesnt hurt as much :/

My last two lenses are the DA16-85 zoom because the first one kept jamming the zoom ring despite being "repaired" twice by the certified Pentax repair company. Gave up when it broke down for the third time.
This lens is the sweet spot for me in the wide to telephoto range. And, it's WR for when I use it in "the most beautiful place in the world that will try to kill you" .

Last 2 lens I bought were the DFA*70-200/2.8 and DFA*85/1.4 purely because I liked the DFA*50/1.4 so much. It is a noticeable step up over the Limited's and the non Star type lens. Shout out to the 50 Macro though, it is amazing in its own right and thoroughly deserves a rebody with the new ring motors and AW body. The DA* zoom is magnificent, I call it my hammer because it just nails every shot. I haven't used the 85 yet, I picked it up as a birthday present to myself, the wife found out and hid it on me in case I spoiled my surprise on myself. Haven't been able to retrieve it because of lockdown restrictions. So I own one, but can't comment.

As photography is now a real work for me, i had to add :
- Sigma 35/1.4 (if Pentax did make one, i'd would have bought a Pentax one. And no, the 31 is no remplacement).
- Pentax FA*85/1.4. (And no, the DFA*85 wasn't available at the time, and is way too heavy at 1.2kg compared to the 550gr of the FA*).

When you have to climb 35m on a static rope to take a shot, then yes, weight become a crucial mater.

A screw mount sologor 200/3.5 preset just to play, and for more serious work, after years or wondering how to get beyond 400mm I bought a DA560/5.6 for wildlife, with COVID and all the restrictions, I think it was well worth it. I have taken literally thousands of pictures in the last 7 months with it. And am working on a project to upload onto eBird, a photo of every species I have ever seen (edit note I am presently at 135 species with photos, out of 512 on my life list)
That sounds like a fascinating project. I may have to consult with you on some of the species I'm seeing just up the road.

My last purchase was a K200/4 and I've been practising with it at a local duck pond. I passed up on a K200/2.5 because I thought the extra weight would keep me from using it often, and it was probably the right choice. I bought it because I've always loved my K135/3.5 - another growing fan of the K series. I wanted something at the longish end because I've never been satisfied with my A70-210 at the long end.

My second last purchase was an Adaptall-2 40A (35-135/3.5) because it was attached to a PKA adapter, but the lens has been surprisingly sharp and fun to use.

both my purchases were "Covid distress purchases" I was more than happy with 20-40 Limited as my every day lens, with occasional use of 35mm macro Limited / 58mm Voigtlander for portraits - but 12 months of restrictions had sapped the enjoyment out of photography

Got 10-17 HD for a different perspective on the world (its fun but purple fringing is pretty bad) - now the 11-18 is on my hit list

And a mint used 55-300 HD I didn't need, but it was really cheap - and I love it - cracking lens, no idea why I didn't get one years ago

Well, scratch that on the macro lens. It ended up having an issue with the aperture ring not fully going to 2.8, only went to 2.8 when lens was set on the "A" position. Returned it. 😕

They (KEH) did have a D-FA 50mm macro for ~$15 bucks more, shouldve jumped on that one instead (was sold already :/)

What were the last 2 lens you purchased and why?

Mine are the Asahi Pentax m-100mm 1:4 macro - to take macro photos with some distance between me and the subject (sometimes using Asahi Pentax extension tubes though).
& recently I purchased its little brother, the Asahi Pentax m-50mm 1:4 macro - to still take macros but be able to take non macros at 50mm.
I like the fact that both lens are almost as sharp as they come, in others opinions here.
D FA* 50/1.4 & D FA* 84/1.4.
Why? Because they are just about the best lenses in the business in their focal ranges, and I like excellent lenses.

DA 20-40 Limited and DA-L 55-300...

As much as I love my DA*16-50 f2.8, it’s big and heavy.

For wandering around with the KP, the 20-40 seemed like just the trick. It is, so far...

The DA-L came along on the shopgoodwill website a few weeks back. I’m in the middle of figuring out what my telephoto zoom solution needs to be. I’m trying to decide what to do that works with full frame and APS-C. I was going to get the DFA70-210 f4, but I want to see what that roadmapped full frame 70-300ish lens is. Since COVID cancelled football season, my F70-210 has been working in the meantime.

All that said, so many good things have been written about the 55-300 in its various forms, when I saw the one online for $60 (including a hood bought elsewhere), I had to try it. That’s an awfully good lens for the money. Remarkable, really.

Makes me wonder what the FF one will be like...

Last two lenses I purchased were the 18-135 and the SMC 35mm Limited Macro. The one other lens I own is the 55-300 PLM and I needed something on the wider end. I wasn't super satisfied with the 18-135, so I picked up the 35mm limited macro as my first prime. Love it! Can get nice macro shots, and a comfortable FoV for the landscapes I like.
