M42 Olympus 50mm F1.8

I bought this zuiko lens a few weeks ago. It looks very genuine. Does anyone have experience with Olympus screwmount lenses? Any other ones they ever producecd?

Thanks

Very nice find...

I've never had the pleasure of using one of these lenses but it appears there are 6 of them in total...

Yes, nice find indeed! I have heard of those lenses, but have never actually seen one. My understanding is that Olympus also manufactured lenses rebranded for other camera makers.

I noticed that all of these early M42 Olympus lenses have the appeture ring next to the mount. The later OM lenses have the appeture ring at the front of the lens, like most range finder lenses. I have converted OM lenses to K-mount and they are as good as any I have used. I love my 24/2.8 for general use.

How to do the conversion? I would love to take on a few of those projects. I have most of the F2 series.

Vanchaz,
Here is a thread that I started for the Zuiko OM conversions. I use a 50/1.8 mount for my conversions. These lenses are readily availlable cheap. This way I can retain the original mount of the expensive lens to restore it later if desired. You must have a very nice collection of OM lenses. Have fun.
