The Tak Bayonet 135s are by far the best bang for buck in terms of a vintage 135. Very sharp, responds well to post processing and is easy to focus. I'd look for a 2.8 over a 2.5 so you can leave it on aperture priority and shoot wide open without having the reduction of quality at 2.5.

Another option is the M75-150, another super cheap lens with great rendering. I'd say I like the pictures from that lens more than the M135 3.5. Out of camera this lens is better than tthe Tak Bayonet in terms of contrast.

Can check out my reviews of these lenses here:

Possibly, from the context, Minimum Operating Distance ? Never heard the expression myself, either.

Better known as working distance?

I like the M135 f3.5; it has great image quality, and it’s small.

But it doesn’t focus super close.

Must be sample variation but my Tak Bayonet 2.5 is sharper wide open than any of my other Pentax . That is maybe except for the FA which I haven't compared against. It makes the M135 3.5 look really sad as well as the old Tak 5 element 2.5s.

optics - Calculating minimum object distance for a lens - Physics Stack Exchange

I thought it was a common term to use

---------- Post added 04-22-21 at 07:58 AM ----------

Thank guys for the input, I just want a budget walk around lens for casual close up and portrait not necessary 1:1 with extension, if I were to getting serious in macro photography I would get the Pentax 100mm, I tried with different lenses with extension and found all non macro lenses quickly drop the IQ off center and the overall images are very soft, non macro lens does not have a flat field in focusing I guess that's why. I know Vivitar produced a very nice macro lens like the Tamron but it is hard to find have not tried.

The answer seems to indicate such does not exist.

Object distance is indeed an established term and refers to the distance from the subject to the lens front principal plane. It is different from both focus distance and working distance; the former being from the subject to the focal plane and the latter from the subject to the front of the lens body.

Opps my bad ! but I did see MOD mentioned somewhere referring to the min focusing or working distance of a lens that's how I get it, or we should put it MFD instead

I uploaded some close up shots shoot with different lenses at the closest distance, I can go further with a real macro lens.
