HD FA Limited Silver or Black?

I would always prefer the black version

I have neither a silver DLSR body nor any silver lenses. (My F series lenses are far from silver, thought not totally black either.) Maybe, just for curiosity, if I now was to choose between a silver and black Ltd lens, I might pick the silver one ... just to have one differing from the others? (Assuming no price difference.)

Personally I try to match silver to silver black to black, having said that I now have 2 silver bodies and find both lenses look fine to me. So for now I try to find silver lenses only because they are discontinued and obviously hard to find later. The hard part is when the different colored bodies got released then nothing matched… I mean seriously blue, red, white bodies I guess black goes with everything..

When you buy into limiteds, you buy art. As exquisite as the optics may be, in this age of convenience and performance where zooms have caught up optically with primes, we love limiteds for their ineffable beauty and unique experience. I held off for a long time, especially as I optimized my gear for long tough mountaineering expeditions, but not anymore. I shall get the HD FA 31/1.8 silver edition and will add a K1 II silver just to frame it properly.

No, I won't take it in the high mountains, it will simply be the wearable jewel for the rare times I walk, not climb or run.

I briefly owned a silver 20-40 Ltd and used it on my black K-70... not a great look, IMO.
