Must A*300/4 lenses be stored with no caps in the beds of pickup trucks?

Is that a rule? 'cause I've only seen two pictures of 'em and both are abused. I suppose only the abused ones go up for sale, but seriously, what's up?

If I can buy one for $75 I will gladly give it a comfortable place in my bed... However 275 is too much for my liking for a scratched version!

I've got one still looking mint, after a good number of years, I guess that's down to Lowepro and Crumpler.

I don't know if it's a rule, but if anyone feels the need to comply with it, they are more
than welcome to use the bed of my pickup truck!

OMG! It should be a crime to treat a lens like that and then put it up for sale. Caveat emptor!

Well I'm in no way affiliated with the seller, but it does look like the one from the lens database to me, and that review stated they found the lens in that condition in a store. Buying it on ebay does seem a bit nuts though (no offense to whoever's bidding )
