I decided to play it safe, I changed my order at the last minute and bought the 10-17mm and 100 macro rather than the Limiteds. As I do not have a fisheye or a macro and I can get away with this without sneaking by my wife. I will just need to wait a little more before I can buy the Limiteds. Oh well.. the new lenses should keep me happy and busy for a while.

Change it again! With the 50 and the 35, right now you only need the 77.

Gotta be cheaper than buying the 10-17 and the 100?

A big gift now will just draw attention to you. She will suspect that you are up to something. Sell something else to restore your bank account. Maybe a bonus that she is not aware of could repair the finacial damage.

I find this whole thread a real entertaining one. It seems the problems that appear in marriages aren't unique but universal. Having said that, I think inmost cases the whole thing soon blows over. Show her your love and appreciation, and all is soon forgiven, at least thats what I find.

I am very fortunate, my wife has been so encouraging of my photography, that when I am the one to hesitate about a new purchase, she pushes me to go ahead and get it.
I cant use that to the extreme though or I will blow it out of the water as well

Wow, some thumbprinted dudes on this forum

I say sell the other lenses (cheaply to me if you like), then grow some kahunas, tell her what you bought, then allow her to buy something of equivalent value.

Keeps her happy, allows you to remain a man, and you get three nice new lenses.

Put your foot down as the man of the house! But then again she may use the same foot to kick your behind!

If I were you unless the wife is 77, 31, 43 I would opt for the lenses
