I will die if my wife finds out I just bought the 31, 43, and 77 Limiteds. I've always regretted selling them last year and decided to buy them all in black this time. The good thing is she will not notice them since they are black.

Now I must decide if I should sell my FA 50mm 1.4 and FA 35mm 2 lenses... I really want to keep them, but selling them would help even things out. What would you do in this situation?

I have a question about the paint on the Limiteds as well as the old manual lenses.... What causes the paint to wear off on any part of the lens? What keeps some looking like new and most with paint that seems to rub off on parts?

I would definately sell them to even things out. That way you'll have an excuse for your wife aswell!

If you sell the FA50 and FA30 only to buy them back a year later, well, that's no good.

My best recommendation: buy her roses, chocolates, champagne and diamonds. If she complains about you buying your toys after that... I don't think I can help you.

Alternative recommendation: figure out what kind of photographs she'd like to hang on the wall, take the pictures and print them and decorate the house in a way that she likes with them. Lenses are cheap compared to most fine art, plus she'll like knowing that it is your work.

If you already have completed the collection of FA Limiteds, why bother keeping the other two lenses...

Anyway the only advice I can give is to gaffer tape your new lenses so nobody can see that they are FA Limiteds and it will keep them in pristine condition...

Anyway, I'd sell them - the limiteds are more than enough to keep in you heaven!

oops... I did! It looks like I will place them for sale as soon as the Limiteds arrives. The 35 will be difficult for me to let go of though...

People usually say a Japanese wife is the best wife you could have in this world- they do whatever their husband wants.

Now you need to learn how to achieve that.

Would sell them. I could easily trade the 35 f2 for the 31. No contest. No one ever gets my 31! 50 is tougher call. Think 43 is better but it is slower and maybe not quite as useful a focal length. Still think I will pick up a 43.
