Nice! I have that lens too, but yours looks like it's in such good shape for being so old! Nice find!

Have that lens myself.. but it's in much rougher condition. I'm not a gentle photographer

My lens cap's print is missing most of the paint.

Good find though, they're harder to come by these days.

good thing I jumped on it. I was really reluctant at first.

yeah it's in great condition, no marks really on the outside, and it's pretty sharp on the crap shots i've been doing around the house. gotta go get it out in the field.

Nice, nice, nice (to your newest addition and for what's in store for me! Thanks!)

Hey, is that a M50/1.7? Same lens I've got!

You'll enjoy it, believe me!

Oh.. the M50.. lol. I'm blind.

I have the A50.

Still, not much difference whatsoever.

Yeah, Jon, I got mine (1.7 M ) from Adorama for about $80. in perfect condition three months ago. Takes great pics but I have so much trouble with the manual focus. Maybe 2 out of 10 shots are in focus. Very frustrating. Any suggestions for me to get better focus? Freddy

I use manaul focus 100% of the time. It is hard yea especially in low light or in curved areas you can't tell if its in focus. Try to look for very distinct edges or lines to focus on. I'd narrow it down with my eyes and if I'm still not sure, I'll try to slowly tweak the focus till I get the focus indicator light to come on. For the closer subjects, I also use the length numbers on the focus barrel to help. In bright environments, stopping down a bit also helps.

You can try a focus trap.

1. Set the cam in AF mode, in the menu make sure af-s is selected as the autofocus mode.
2. If you want to shoot in bursts, set the shooting mode to continuous.
3. Hold the shutter down, now focus while holding it down. You'll notice as soon as the subject is in focus, the camera will shoot.

You may have to turn the focus ring slower as you get closer to the focus point - it's hit and miss.

The problem with this is that you can eat up your battery real quick, but you'll be more likely to get more in-focus shots.

Edit: You just reminded me to get back to someone. Thanks

sometimes maybe that spot your camera chose isn't the spot you wanted so thats why you gotta rely on your eyes.

Wish you were in town so that we could trade lenses and pick at this. Is it front of back focus?
