Give it a try-out. Individual lenses can still have sample variation, or develop problems over the years.

I still have my old M 28mm 2.8. It sold in large numbers and is an extremely capable lens. The M 28mm 3.5 and K 28mm 3.5 are better regarded lenses however, and the K 28mm f2.0 "Hollywood" lens is in a league all of its own
